STEP 1
Configure Your IBAN in the Portal
Log in to the Merchant Portal and navigate to the Request to Pay section. Enter your business IBAN where you want to receive funds. This IBAN must be registered with your acquiring bank and linked to your merchant account. Once configured, all RTP payments will be settled directly to this account.
STEP 2
Create a Payment Request Template
Create a payment request by specifying the amount, currency, description, and the customer's identifier (phone number or IBAN). You can save templates for recurring requests -- perfect for monthly subscriptions, utility bills, or regular B2B invoices. Templates can be reused with a single click, saving time on repetitive billing.
STEP 3
Send Your First Request
Click "Send" and the payment request is pushed directly to the customer's banking app via the instant payment system. The customer receives a notification with the payment details and can approve or decline with a single tap. No QR scanning needed -- the request arrives directly in their app.
STEP 4
Accept Payments!
Once the customer approves the request, the payment is settled instantly to your configured IBAN. You receive a real-time confirmation in the Merchant Portal. Track all requests by status (sent, approved, declined, expired) from the RTP dashboard. For B2B scenarios, you can export transaction reports for accounting and reconciliation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if the customer declines the request?
If a customer declines, you will see the status updated to "Declined" in your RTP dashboard. You can send a new request at any time. No charges are incurred for declined requests.
Can I use RTP for recurring monthly payments?
Yes, RTP is ideal for recurring billing. Save your payment request as a template and send it each billing cycle with a single click. Each request still requires customer approval, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Which banks support Request to Pay?
RTP works with all banks connected to the national instant payment system. The customer must have a banking app that supports incoming payment requests. Check with your acquiring bank for the latest list of supported institutions.
Is there a limit on the number of requests I can send?
There is no hard limit on the number of requests. However, transaction amount limits may apply based on your merchant agreement. Sending excessive requests to the same customer may be flagged -- use responsibly.
